Thai To go

Thai To go isn't a dining room — it's a bright red food truck set up at the Universal City food truck park, under string lights and next to picnic tables, doing one thing well: authentic Thai cooking. One regular put it simply after searching all over the San Antonio area for the real thing: "I have been searching for authentic Thai food, especially near San Antonio and this is the best place!!!"

Every order comes out of a small kitchen window, but the menu doesn't cut corners — hand-rolled spring rolls, wide rice noodles in Pad See Ew, glass noodles tossed in Pad Woon Sen, and grilled pork skewers with real char that keep customers coming back specifically for them. Portions run generous, and the chef's pickled onion has its own fan club: "The chef here is so nice and the food is great... love love love the pickled onion!"

There's no drive-thru small talk here — just a family-run truck, a grill that gets used, and a heat scale that goes all the way up to a pinch of habanero if you ask for it. Grab a picnic table, order at the window, and expect food that tastes like someone's grandmother approved the recipe.
